Although Candice is well known for being the face of the favorite local restaurant, The Carving Board Cafe in the Albemarle Square Shopping Center; her career has evolved and expanded into Real Estate. The extent of Candice's business background, management skills, knowledge of contract law, and love of quality customer service combined with her passion and knowledge of building, plumbing, electrical and finance, are the reasons Candice has already proven to be an outstanding Realtor with Re/Max Assured Properties.
Personal:
Candice met her husband and local Charlottesville native Justin van der Linde while attending Johnson & Wales University for Culinary Arts in Norfolk, Virginia in 2000. After graduating Summa Cum Laude from the University with focus on business management, and customer service, Candice moved with Justin to his hometown Charlottesville to begin the dream of opening and owning a restaurant of their own. Candice began working at The Old Mill Room at The Boar's Head Inn immediately following graduation, and before long was managing The Old Mill Room, Bistro 1834, Room Service, and Guest Amenities. While managing the 4 Diamond Resort Restaurant, she and her husband were continually building the base for the dream restaurant. June 13th 2005 Candice and Justin opened The Carving Board Cafe in the Albemarle Square Shopping Center.
The home town hot spot became quite well known for the "mom & pop" feel and atmosphere. Candice took charge of all customer interaction, as well as all financial tax and employee aspects of owning and operating a successful business. Through the years The Carving Board Cafe accumulated numerous awards for Best Small Business, Best Restaurant, Family Restaurant, Local Favorite, Consistently top of Charlottesville Dining Guide, and through the popularity of the healthy cuisine, created a relationship with Atlantic Coast Athletic Club- better known as ACAC. Since the restaurant dream became a reality, Candice and Justin decided that they wanted to venture into new careers utilizing their skills they've acquired through business ownership. Candice has always had a passion and understanding of carpentry, plumbing, electrical and finance. In realizing the skills and desire to work closely with quality referrals, Candice has become a wonderful trustworthy source to her clients, and their friends and family.
